Your questions, our answers.
Everything you should know before installing dVPN Connect.
dVPN Connect is a desktop app that connects you to the Sentinel network, a decentralized VPN. The app handles the encrypted tunnel, country and city selection, and billing.
Traditional VPNs are owned by a single company that runs all its servers. With Sentinel, the network is made of hundreds of independent nodes, which removes the single point of trust and failure.
Yes. Using a VPN is legal in most jurisdictions, including France and the European Union. Illegal activities remain illegal whether or not a VPN is used.
No. The Sentinel protocol does not centralize any activity logs, and dVPN Connect does not see the network traffic flowing through the tunnel. We only keep the minimum data required for your account (email, subscription status).
No. Traffic is encrypted end-to-end between your machine and the Sentinel node. We have no visibility into the sites you visit, the requests you make, or the data you transmit.
Two options: a fixed monthly subscription (Starter or Unlimited) or pay-as-you-go bandwidth. Everything is configured directly in the app.
No. dVPN Connect hides all the technical complexity. For you, it's a regular VPN app with a Connect button.
Windows 10 and 11, macOS 12 and later, and the main Linux distributions (.deb, .rpm, AppImage). Mobile versions are coming later.
Yes: 1 device on Free, 2 on Starter, 5 on Unlimited.
Directly in the app: open your account area and pick Cancel. No commitment, effective at the end of the current period.
Like any VPN there is a small overhead. With WireGuard and a geographically close node, the throughput loss is usually negligible.
